Stephanie Coates, OD
Dr. Coates was born and raised in Illinois. She attended college at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL for her bachelors degree, then Illinois State University for her masters degree. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, and then moved to Florida to start her career. She has been an optometrist in Pinellas County since 2004.
Dr. Coates is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association, as well as the Pinellas Optometric Association.
As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Coates is available for general eye exams, contact lens exams, and diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect the eye or vision. In addition to training in eye diseases and disorders, Dr. Coates is also trained in anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, and physiology. With this background, Dr. Coates is trained to recognize a range of health issues; such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Coates works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care and regularly attends continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of her dedication to continuing education that our patients receive the most modern and progressive vision care available. She will spend the time needed to make sure that you receive a thorough exam, and that you understand any eye conditions and treatment recommendations.
